Meetings & Events 2023

Members Meetings

The first meeting in 2023 will be our AGM in January and we have developed a programme for the remainder of the year.

Meetings are held at Burnham Nurseries and all start at 1.30pm, except for auctions which will start at 1.00pm.

Shows

The Society hosts an Annual Show open to the public and this will be Sunday 7th May 2023  at Budleigh Salterton (chosen to avoid a clash with the King's Coronation)

An Autumn Show will also be held at Burnham Nurseries Sunday 15th October 2023

The Society also mounts displays at other shows to which it is invited and those we are attending are included in the programme below.

15th January: Annual General Meeting and Presentation of 2022 Table Show Awards.

19th February: Meeting: A chat with Ron - Ron Woolway

12th March: Meeting: Orchid travels in Australia - Dr Jonathan Hutchinson

25th March: South West Orchid Society Show (West Monkton Village Hall, near Taunton TA2 8NE)

16th April: Meeting: Feeding Orchids Feast or Famine - Malcolm Moodie (Via Zoom)

29th April: Cornwall Orchid Society Annual Show at Chacewater TR4 8PZ

7th May: Devon Orchid Society Annual Show at Budleigh Salterton Public Hall, EX9 6RJ.

11th June: Members Auction (1.00pm start)

16th/18th June: International Orchid Show at Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

16th July: Malcolm Perry (Subject to be announced)

20th August: Sara Ritterhausen (Subject to be announced)

17th September: Helen Milner (Chair BOC) Growing Orchids in a Terrarium and how the Wardian Case changed the world

15th October: Autumn Show at Burnham Nurseries

19th November: Trending Hybrids and Species – Lynda Coles
