Members Meetings

The first meeting in 2024 will be our AGM in January and we have developed a programme for the remainder of the year.

Meetings are held at Burnham Nurseries and all start at 1.30pm, except for auctions which will start at 1.00pm.

Shows

The Society hosts an Annual Show open to the public and this will be Saturday 4th May 2024  at Budleigh Salterton

An Autumn Show will also be held at Burnham Nurseries Sunday 20th October 2024

The Society also mounts displays at other shows to which it is invited and those we are attending are included in the programme below.

21st January: AGM and Social with Orchid Quiz (with prizes!).

18th February: Zoom Meeting: The History of Liverpool Botanic Gardens and the Liverpool Orchids Stephen Lyus

24th February Bournemouth Orchid Show NEW VENUE Hamworthy Club

9th March South West Society Annual Show (West Monkton Village Hall, near Taunton TA2 8NE)

10th March: Meeting: Orchids of Western Australia – Saul Walker

21st April: Members Auction (1.00pm start)

27th April: Cornwall Orchid Society Annual Show at Chacewater TR4 8PZ

4th May: Devon Orchid Society Annual Show at Budleigh Salterton Public Hall, EX9 6RJ.

9th June: Orchid Shows of the World – WOC Taiwan 2024 and EOC Dresden 2024 – Wayne Haywood

13th - 16th June: International Orchid Show NEW VENUE BBC Gardeners’ Live, Birmingham NEC.

July: Burnham Orchid Festival and 75th Anniversary

15th - 18th August: Rosemoor Flower Show

18th August: Tropical Orchids without heat – Andrew Bannister, Orchid Alchemy (bringing plants for sale)

7th – 8th September Welsh Orchid festival

14th September: Terrestrial Orchids of South Africa (and other plants South African!) – Jonathan Hutchinson RHS (Saturday)

20th October: Autumn Show at Burnham Nurseries

17th November: A Chat with Ron – “China and its Orchids” – Ron Woolway

15th December: Christmas Social
