There will be major roadworks on the A382 starting 25th September 2025 with a road closure and diversion affecting anyone trying to get to the nursery. Work on Phase 2 – A38/Bovey Tracey direction is expected to start on or about 10 August 2026 at which point, the Newton Abbot direction will reopen. Sara says she hopes that everyone will still be able to come to the nursery during this time and find a way around the diversions. It will just mean allowing a little extra time for your journeys.

The Burnham Nurseries Orchid Festival Weekend will be taking place at Forches Cross, Newton Abbot on Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th July 2026 – see Burnham Nurseries website for more details.

Congratulations to Devon Orchid Society for a GOLD medal for its display, A Night at the Theatre at the Gardeners World Live Show at the NEC Birmingham in June 2026. Congratulations too to Sara Rittershausen and Burnham Nurseries for its PLATINUM medal and being awarded Best Trade Exhibit in the orchid show.
